Khatam Wall Clock 303 SOLD
This is a brilliant Khatam square clock with Mina decoration. This unique wall clock is handmade using art of Persian marquetry. The plate is enamel work and it is battery powered. The art of Mina-kari or Enameling is called miniature of fire as well as the decoration of metal and tile with Mina glaze. Marquetry is the art of applying small pieces of veneer such as brass and small pieces of pine, walnut and mahogany woods to a structure to form decorative patterns and luxury designs.
Khatam Kari is defined as art of decorating the surface of objects with small equilateral triangles made of ivory, bone, wood and brass twisted wire laid side by side that result in a geometrical pattern. The raw materials include: areca wood, walnut wood, orange wood, Jujube wood, camel bone, brass twisted wire, hot and cold isinglass, fiber and varnishes and ply wood. Many objects can be decorated using Khatam including Picture frames, cigarette boxes, pipe, makeup boxes, pen holder and album cover.
We recommend that do not clean these products with wet cloth or any chemical material and do not expose them to sun light, heat and moisture for a long time.
