MASHHAD 82
MASHHAD 82
Mashad is a city in the east part of Iran. Many of the best carpets in Iran are made in Mashad giving an idea of how important Mashad is as a carpet-weaving center. Based on normally a cotton foundation, the wool pile used in Mashad rugs is amongst the best in Iran. The wool used is softer and the pile is tight and thin. The colors used are exclusively red and blue as the dominating colors with ivory or khaki used to provide interesting contrast. The background is typically deep, dark red with dark blue highlights. Some rugs are an all-over traditional pattern. The red background is a distinguishing characteristic of Mashad rugs.
Our traditional Mashhad rug is hand knotted wool, nain in mint rug. It is afshan design with floral pattern in which its base color is lacquer red and has highlights of dark blue in center pattern and border. Wool rugs not only offer style, but add warmth to your living space.
If you are looking for a carpet to bring a feeling of freshness, cheerfulness and life, this is a right piece for you.
Colors may vary slightly in person due to differences in monitor settings and lighting.
