Mousavi Pure Silk Rug 288 SOLD
Our outstanding handmade rug is made of pure natural silk with pile and foundation made of 100 percent silk. This is one of the most genuine Qum Silk rugs woven by Master Mousavi. The Achaemenid empire story is depicted all over this masterpiece. The central medallion represents an Achaemenid king along with his companions and servants. Symbols of three gods are also shown inside the medallion, Ahura Mazda (Zoroastrian god of truth and justice), Anahita and Mithra. The Ahura Mazda was placed higher, but Anahita and Mithra in the lower order as shown in the rug. The medallion then is surrounded with Shirdal (Griffin) symbol which means Lion-Eagle (a guard against evil, magic and lies). Remaining of the cream field is covered with flowers and blossoms in natural colors. Four quarter panels show winged angels which are the symbols of freedom and protection. Moving towards the outer part of the field, Kingdom of Achaemenid, soldiers and Hawk are presented beautifully. Guard stripes and main border have the combination of angels and flowers in elegant colors. Fringes are hand knotted silk.
Silk rugs from Qum consist of highest grade natural silk. They embody pure luxury.
Even though silk is a strong natural fiber, silk rugs are very delicate and should be placed in areas where foot traffic is minimal. This will preserve the longevity of the fiber and prevents abrasion.
Use a brushless suction head to vacuum silk rugs. Without a vacuum cleaner, you can simply give the rug a shake and a gentle beating to detach the dirt that have settled on the rug.
Oriental and traditional Persian Qum rug is signed by master-weaver “Mousavi”.
“Mousavi Qum” signature is woven inside the central medallion.
The rug has a pair.
