Among the finest handmade rugs ever made, Isfahan (Esfahan) rugs are the pinnacle of the Persian rugs. This rug is of great delicacy and utmost intricacy. Our rug is finely detailed in wool and silk, with flowers and warp woven from natural silk ( Silk Foundation) which gives the rug strength yet flexibility while allowing for tighter knotting of wool due to the light weight foundation. The rug depicts a central red color medallion corner motif with Dragon-Mouthed Slimi or Arabesque spread all over cream base. In this type of Slimi or Arabesque design motifs, the end of each branch is divided into two symmetrical sub-branches forming a shape that resembles that of a dragon mouth, and on the stem of the branches, there are blossoms decorating various points of the work mostly called Slimi or Arabesque patterned blossoms.

The rug is extremely strong, soft and durable. Silk has also added extraordinary shine and beauty to its appearance.

Agra Indian Rug
