Pictorial carpet, picture carpet, tableau rug, carpet tableau or rug tableau is an ornamental rug specially prepared for hanging on room and hall walls for decoration. The designs and samples on pictorial carpets are completely different from those on common floor rugs. It always has a picture or scenery that are much more colorful with many different scenes.

The rug is machine made and has made of polyester. The fringe is %50 polyester and %50 cotton. it is woven after the original miniature painting by Master Farshchian called "Scent of the Beloved" or "Scent of Joseph’s shirt". It depicts Jacob Prophet holding the shirt of his son, Joseph and smelling it. Joseph was Jacob's 11th son (Rachel was his mother). Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and was told to Jacob that he has killed by wolf. Later Joseph became the second most powerful man in Egypt next to the Pharaoh. When famine struck Egypt, Jacob prophet and Joseph's brothers came to the Land of Goshen in Egypt. Joseph was reunited with his father and restored peace with his family.

Agra Indian Rug
